It takes many small steps until the natural surfaces are ready to be sold. Using the hay surface WILDSPITZE as an example, we’ll outline the production process.
After the exhausting haymaking at an altitude of 1,700 to 2,000 m on the slopes of Tyrol’s highest mountain, Wildspitze, we check the quality of the material: How does the hay smell? Has it dried properly? How coarse are the plant fibres? Next, we weigh the hay, grind the long fibres, and select the best bits. Together with our ecological binding agent, the fibres are sieved onto the base material in several steps and processed at high temperatures and pressure. While this might sound relatively simple, the production process is quite complex since 40 to 100 parameters have to be taken into account each time depending on the recipe in order to ensure a consistent quality.
